January 2017

In April 2007 Mid Sussex Wood Recycling was born. The idea was a simple one, to utilise the thousands of tonnes of timber being thrown away every day by Industry.

In 2008 we needed to rent some space to put the many tonnes of timber we had already recovered!

By 2012 we ran a fleet of vehicles in order to collect yet more timber and give it another life!

Some of this timber only has a role to play in the Biomass market, as feedstock for power stations that have made the transistion from fossil fuels.

The useful stuff is being used in peoples plans for outside spaces, garden rooms, furniture, planters – the list of uses is a pretty long one.

In 2015 we began work with Pericles, a charity that provides training and work programs for adults with learning difficulties, by providing an environment that is beneficial to their adults. They have created the Grow Project which provides them with fresh vegetables and fruit as well as helping them learn about the natural environment.

In 2017 we are still looking to expand (and celebrate our 10th anniversary – there will be cake!) come and visit us to see what else we do…
