Did you know there are now over 30 Wood Recycling Projects based in the UK, under the National Community Wood Recycling umbrella?

We all operate under the same fundamental premis, to re-use waste timber.

We collect waste timber from Manufacturing and Construction industries with a view to salvaging as much usable timber as possible.

Just from the National Housebuilders scheme alone we, collectively, gathered over 21,000 tonnes of waste timber in 2018.

On average 15-20% of this was salvaged for reuse. The remainder will have been used for a variety of reasons including biomass, firewood or donated to various local organisations for ad-hoc projects.

In addition to these collections there will be manufacturing companies looking to dispose of packaging materials and pallets as well as smaller construction companies looking for a cost-efficient, reliable alternative to skip hire.

Demolition companies are also working with us as a means of salvaging good timbers (joists, floorboards) that aren’t cost-effective for them to recover.

The salvaged timber is available for sale at each Enterprise along with wood products, furniture and more… do go and visit your local Wood Recycling Project, you may be surprised at what you can find.
